There are two subway stations, restaurants and convenience stores nearby. You can also walk to the shopping district quite easily, it took me less than 10 minutes to walk there.

Comfortable hotel situated only a short commute for the city centre. Rooms are small but adequate. Free Tea/coffee making facilities in the lobby. Small Italian type restaurant adjoined which serves breakfast but need to purchase a token from hotel reception. We transfered our luggage from our previous hotel but it didn't arrive so the hotel staff were super concerned and did everything in their power to retrieve to no avail. Luckily one of them mentioned there was Yamato office down the street so I went and viola there was our luggage. Thank you to the staff as we may have had to leave Japan without it.

The aesthetics matched the photos exactly, and the room was excellent with a very comfortable bed. While it isn't extremely close to the center of the action, buses and the subway were close, and the main shopping street is less than 10 minutes away. They also have a coffee machine in the lobby with surprisingly great coffee.

great location, it was just off one of the major boulevards on a quiet street. nearby a small market, convenience stores, small neighborhood restaurants, including one that had breakfast starting at 7am! lots of things were in walking distance so it was easy to get around. the staff was very friendly and welcoming, helped me with lots of questions and the hotel itself had a simple yet elegant and serene feel to it. beds were very comfortable too. would definitely stay here again! coffee machine downstairs made great coffee and there was an ice machine too. having the self service laundry machines was a big plus too.

Love hotel resol! Great location as it’s tucked away in the side streets still bustling with so many good restaurants and cafes close by. Check in was easy and staff were very friendly. The large double room we stayed in was a great size and fit both our big suitcases. The bed was a lot bigger than I anticipated (almost felt wider than king size and I thought it would only be queen at least). Can’t complain though because the beds were super comfy! The lighting and ambiance of the room was so calming and the beautiful headboard and traditional style window shutters were very aesthetically pleasing to look at. Room came with free matcha mixing set and complimentary water bottles.

Room and hotel have an excellent design and decoration. All very japanese style, very neat. They have improved the ryokan experience in the room: you have a couple of seats where you can drink your tea, tatami floors, japaneese lantern, headboard wrapped in a silky matching cloth. Staff was great, kind and helpfull. Amenities and cleaning room every day. No noise in the room, nor from frigde, aircon, nor even from the people on the corridor. Definetly I'll come back.

The hotel itself is located at Shijo, which is near to several restaurants, and within a walkable distance to Gion. Very convenience as it is just two stops from Kyoto main station. For the room, it is with tatami flooring, and comes with a comfortable sitting area. Love my stay as it is way too comfortable and I enjoy a lot! Room is clean, staff is friendly, and amenities are all good. Will definitely book this again when I come back. Thank you for the good stay!

About a 5 minute walk to the city centre. Slightly isolated but because of that, it's quiet and lovely. Modern/chic interior with some clever use of Tatami mats (so remove your shoes before entering) and Shoji screens to give it the Kyoto flair. Bed and bathroom wise, they fit taller folks well (I'm 182cm). Lovely addition is Uji matcha and instructions to prepare them in the room AND free coffee in the lobby.

The bed was very large and great to flop into after a day of exploring Kyoto's historical and retail areas. The room was attractive and the hotel has great and easy-to-use facilities like an in-house laundromat. The hotel was next to a variety of things like the main retail area and the subway for easy access to the rest of the city!

It was a compact boutique hotel with convenient washer/dryer which we utilized. The location was NOT as central as I had hoped but still close enough to nearby convenience stores, restaurants & local pubs. I would probably try the same ReSol hotel but try the Kawaramachi location next time. Kawaramachi is the shopping/restaurant district within the nearby area which we ventured into.
